My son (13yrs old and one of four children) received an invitation to compete in a karate tournament in Japan. His flight is scheduled to leave on Wednesday. The trip itself is not yet paid for ($1750.00 due tomorrow) and even if I find a way to come up with it, it leaves me nothing to send with him for meals, transportation or other expenses while he is there.
We have exhausted all of our fundraising ideas and have come up short. I have no credit cards, mortgage is paid up (on a house that is falling apart), property taxes are behind 14mths...
Times have been tough for a while but will get better...right now, I just don't want to disappoint my son at the last minute by telling him he can not go on this once in a lifetime trip that he earned.
I know this may not be as critical as the requests of some others but is very important for our family...any thoughts, ideas, assistance, gift, loan would be appreciated...
